he Government of the Slovak Republic by its Ordinance No. 448/2015 Coll. (dated 16 December 2015) changed the Ordinance of the Government of the Slovak Republic No. 497/2013 Coll. stipulating the method of calculating the toll, toll rate amount and system of discounts from toll rates for the use of specified roads sections. With the effect from 1 January 2016 the Government imposed the change of electronic toll rates. The decrease in toll rates is not general for all vehicles subject to toll payment.
From 1 January, the toll rates are decreased for lorries with the maximum permissible total weight of 12 tons and more with the emission classes 0-II, III-IV. The change in rates does not apply to busses or lorries up to 12 tons, or lorries with the weight of 12 tons and more with emission classes V, VI and EEV. The rates for relevant lorries are decreased on highways and expressways and also 1st class roads parallel with highways and expressways.
The rates for lorries with maximum permissible total weight of 12 tons and more with emission classes 0 – IV the rates change from 1 January 2016 as follows:
